New year... new book

Happy friggin' new years eve, folks! I hope all is well in your respective places of residence (Jerusalem soon for a certain friend). Enjoy this, the new year. I hope to find a job that pays consistently and lasts more than two days. Though the last two days have landed me $100, I would like a job that I can KEEP going to.

Well... rock it on folks. I have a few unsorted coloring book pages that I'll post for the next two or three weeks and then I'll hit you with a big one. It's gonna be good.

Swing and a miss

So I got over that kind of mope-y feeling I had yesterday. I'm a lot better. I got a hold on my feelings and now have a better perspective on it all. Life is good.

Speaking of which, I got a job yesterday and I just made 60 bucks today for counting shirts and crap. It was awesome! Easiest money I ever made... next to swiping change out of my companion's dresser after he was transferred... Sorry Duncan... you were home...

Today has been interesting

Here is your picture of a sloth that has nothing to do with anything else in the coloring book at hand.

As for the title of this blog... let me explain. So, today my buddy Nic got married to his High-school sweetheart, Janey. This is wonderful! I could not be more excited for them. This is a wonderful thing to have happen. We were there for the sealing ceremony in the Portland temple and it was a truly glorious occasion. I did way good at still being optimistic about the whole thing.

Now, it's not like I'm dubious of the love between the two friends (now spouses) or anything, but it's just that I left somebody very special to me that I'm going to do the same thing with. I sat there and just wanted to be with her and love every single second of it. Alas, 757.7 miles of distance separate us from that reality. So... this was my first obstacle and it wasn't that hard to overcome. I just called her to quell that feeling. It's the second obstacle that really got me.

Nic and I have been like... best friends since 7th grade when I met him in middle school and my deacon's quorum. We've done tons of stuff together: camp-outs, sleepovers, plays, choir, brouhahas, DDR, Guitar Hero, Nickel Arcades, Red Robin and countless other things too dumb to even mention. Today, Nic took a step that I can't yet. He's married to a woman that he loves. He has thusly moved onto another part of life that kind of leaves me in the dust. Given, he's still my friend and that bond is still alive and well. It's just the fact that this is seriously happening! He's married! I was there when it happened and I cannot just say that it was a figment of my imagination nor can I say "dude, when you get married..."because it's happened. It's done. I didn't have nearly enough time to see him at the reception (even though some of my desires were bit selfish in thinking that he would spend a some of that time alone with me) and that's mainly due to this crazy snowdrift we got here in Oregon, but it's just hard to not have the time to do what you wanted to do in the way that you wanted to do it. It's rough, but I know it's not the end. It just takes some time to get my feelings straight on the subject. It's a crazy transition that I have yet to completely understand. It's just close to home this time. That makes it doubly hard.

Well... that's it from me for today. I got a job from a friend's dad's boss tomorrow that I get to go and do. Warehouse fun times. Wish me luck.

She means business

Merry after-Christmas people! I got some sweet stuff and then my rock band drums died. Lame! Especially because one of my things I got was Lego Rock Band. Kind of makes things difficult.

Anyways, enjoy! I'm off to watch vintage Looney Toons. Riggety Roll!

Twice a day... or else!

Only news of the day is that my parents got a new mattress in their room. This, however, means that I got their old mattress: a California King mattress. It's awesome. I get to put that puppy to use tonight as I head off to bed here later on. I'm pumped.

Rough checkup

Spent most of the day looking for jobs in Oregon. It's lame when that one job that you totally loved when you were there the last time tells you that they would love to hire you back on except for the fact that there are already too many people working there.

A bargain!!!

Alright... so get this. I got home on Saturday night at about 9:00 or so and had a wonderful time here at home. All was well.

That is... until Sunday night. I got a text from a person that I didn't even know. She later informed me that her name was "Rachel". Rachel had apparently been looking for my younger brother, Matt, only to find that I had inherited his phone and that he was (and is) now in Utah serving his mission. So... she started talking again, asking if I was "the cute brother". Taken aback for a second, I asked her why she thought so. Her response, "Matt showed me a picture of you all = and there was "him, the cute brother and the married brother". I guess I was the cute one. Whatever. So it was. She was kind of swooning over the fact of talking to "the cute one" and wondered what she should do. I then informed her that I was engaged and she responded with "oh... you should probably disregard the picture I just sent you then...". At this point, I hadn't gotten the picture on my phone, so I thought nothing of it and the conversation stopped. Not a minute later do a get a little buzz on my phone and I see that I have received said picture. Knowing it would cost me some money to open it, I decided to be a little curious and see what it was.

BAD IDEA!

Seems she thought she would try to be a little seductive towards me and she decided to take a picture of something a little bit ridiculous: Her vagina. That's what I had staring back at me on my phone. It was quickly deleted and I just kind of sat there for a second and wondered a few things to myself. 1) What the freak just happened? 2) Who the freak is this girl? and 3) What the freak kind of flirting tactics are those? Needless to say I have lost some faith in the youth of today. Good heavens. What a Sunday...

double duty

Sorry for not posting yesterday. Finals craziness and then a power outage that lasted a great deal of the evening. Fun times here in Rexbourge. As for me now, I just finished my last final and am now packing all of my earthly posessions and getting my butt outta this place. It's gonna be good. Until I get home... see y'all later.

Dunce

It's finals week. This is how I felt when I took the first half of my Math Final. Let's hope it changes by the end of the day.

Best of luck out there soldiers. You'll need it.

Employee benefits

It's in the employee benefits package. It's in the fine print. Really makes the kids proud.

So it's finals week... laaaaaame. After that I head home to native Oregon and leave the freezing Rexburg to itself. I'm not all that thrilled to leave the fiancée here, but it's just how things work for the time being. After that's done, I'm getting married and that's that. Awesome and a half. Leaving for four months, not so awesome.

Clever dog...

Another of my favorites. I remember very well having many missionaries laugh hysterically in many apartments when this one came along. I love it.

Learning to deal

And there you have it, folks: another week of coloring book bloggery. Hope you enjoyed it. Tune in next week for more of the same lovely junk from a kid with too much time on his hands.

Until then. Loves.

2nd grade all over again...

I'm surprised that this got through the coloring book editors. Maybe they just wanted to have one of those little easter egg-y type pages for those who were really paying attention. Kind of like the more sophisticated humor in Spongebob or something like that. Either way, enjoy.

Hygiene is crucial!

You should take notes from this man, kids. He speaks the truth.

In other news, I recently downloaded a Nintendo DS emulator for my computer and have been playing all of the games that I cannot to this moment afford. One of these has been "Professor Layton and the Curious Village". It's wonderful! Serious! I spend a great deal of time yesterday solving all sorts of crazy puzzles and working to solve a murder as well. I've really enjoyed it and I hope that you do to if you ever go out and purchase yourself an copy. It's well worth it.

Part of this delicious breakfast

I'm not entirely sure where one would buy edible cubes, but apparently they only seem to be available in hospitals. Let this be a lesson to you, children: Eat your cubes. Eat them often.

She returns

Man. Will she ever learn to stop having crack kids? Tisk tisk. How did you ever get into a Coloring book for little children madam?

In other news, I finished watching the first season of the awesome show "Pushing Dasies" yesterday. Cliffhanger of all cliffhangers. Good heavens. I recommend it to all who read this. Goooood stuff.

Cue trumpet fanfare...

Sorry about my lateness in putting up Friday's post. Great day yesterday, but it involved me being away from my house from 2pm to midnight. As such, I had not a lot of time after classes to be here and blag. In other news, I saw New Moon yesterday with the Fiancee and I have to say that I was actually impressed with it. It is vastly better than the first movie (it was bad. WAAAY bad) and I rather enjoyed it. Other than that I finished the first season of Psych (thank you Optimistic. and Genuine Draft) and now I am off to start Pushing Dasies. Good times.

Social Etiquette lesson 1

It's a good thing this little duck hadn't gone to the party he was planning on with this thing on his face. Think of the implications to the mother duck! She'd be the topic of every gossip duck circle! Good heavens!

Don't try this at home

So... final verdict on the price of the car repairs come in tomorrow. Wish us luck. Until then, enjoy this mouse eating soap. Thanks

An explanation

Alright folks... let me tell you a tale.

So, I was supposed to be back on Sunday afternoon to my apartment, but disaster struck in Logan Utah. My fiancée Catherine Dresen was driving the car for the entirety of the trip. We had planned to stay the night (Saturday) at her grandparents house and leave in the afternoon of the following day. We go out to her car to grab some things Saturday night only to find that the car won't start! Turns out that her timing belt had snapped along the way and we had miraculously had enough juice in the battery to get us to her grandparents. The Honda dealer was closed on Sunday, so we had to wait till the next morning to find out what had happened, then hours of service to see more problems and then before we knew it, we had to wait until Tuesday afternoon to get back. It was insanity! Given, it was a most excellent weekend otherwise! Fun family things, Watching 12 episodes of Psych. tons of great movies, playing Rock Band a bit, seeing a great brother and introducing a Fiancée to the extended family who loved her. Good... but now m'lady owes Honda roughly $1200.00. L-to-the-ame
